Design & Artwork

Here at Signs Southport we strive to complete a project with ease and efficiency from start to finish, with an aim of creating Signage that will last decades. At Signs Southport we pride ourselves in being completely different when it comes to designing Signage or graphics. Even if you have a blank design in your mind and are struggling to decide on a certain aspect of your colour scheme or logo for example – or you have a general idea on what you would like, our designers will be able to work with you to create and finalise a concept. Our process is designed with you in mind, from the level of input you have, to implementing any feedback given. Our level of experience makes it in our best interest to guide you along the process and make it as smooth as possible.
If you have any current corporate brand guidelines, finished artwork, specific colour references, or existing signage which you want to match to, we can guarantee that your new Signage will be produced, manufactured and installed to your exact specifications. Our system of design, print and manufacturing is fully colour calibrated. Our fully qualified manufacturing and installation teams work to the highest of standards, and we can accept artwork in most file formats.
For some projects the signs can be a modular part of an overall theme, such as theme parks, arenas or play centres. Over the past 16 years we have gained the design experience and capability to develop a complete concept and end with the complete manufacturing and installation of the finalised solution. From wallpaper wraps, interior buildings and characters to 3-D scenery and effects which are animated. We have had the privilege of featuring on the front cover and centre page of a respected industry publication called Sign Directions.
Often the design process is linked directly with Planning. If applicable (and required by the customer) then we will ensure that all designs we create should be looked upon favourably by Planning if consent were sought. Many design factors must be taken into consideration including the size and positioning of the signage, the design content and text size, the use and type of any illumination, the overall style and construction materials used, the existing street scene, listed building status and much more! Additionally to design considerations we are able to offer expert advice and guidance on all matters relating to advertising consent, including managing the whole process as your Planning Agent.

Site Surveys & Audits
A site survey is the first step to achieving great signage. That’s why we offer free surveys which will be conducted by our qualified sign advisors, this will help us evaluate the project and calculate the correct readings for the job. A lot of our signs are tailor-made and do require certain requirements to make, which we can do in a cost-effective and reliable way.
We are also proud to say that we continue to invest in our team who are highly skilled and experienced in manufacturing, many of our team members have been trained with Signs Southport and the Poppy Signs team from an apprentice level. We continue to provide up to date training and assessments to ensure we continue providing the highest quality of work.

Planning & Compliance
Our 16 years of experience allows us to offer guidance and expert advice on all matters which relate to planning consent, we also offer the option of managing the whole process if required. There are many factors which we take into consideration, from the size and positioning of the customers signage, text size and design content to the use and type of any illumination, overall style and the final construction materials which are used, to the street scene and building status.

After the design and site survey process, we continue using the best suited fixings and materials which guarantee longevity for any sign we install.
We continue to be full compliant with the industry health and safety requirements during every installation, which are completed with the upmost care and consideration for you and your surrounding visitors. We always ensure to make our team is fully up to date with training and current accreditations. We love a different challenge, so wherever you require a sign, we can fit it!
